September 16, 2026A review meeting for three national and industry standards, including "Steels for Cold Heading and Cold Extrusion," as well as a pre-review meeting for two national standards such as "Structural Steels with Guaranteed Hardenability," was held in Jinan. A representative from Creation Group attended as one of the standard reviewers, working together with expert delegates to deliberate on the technical content of the standards.
Standard review: bridging production, inspection, and application
For a material standard to truly serve the industry, it must not only accurately express technical specifications but also ensure seamless coordination among production processes, inspection and evaluation, procurement acceptance, and downstream applications. The value of the review and pre-review lies in bringing together professional opinions from different stages to thoroughly discuss the scientific validity, consistency, and feasibility of the standard’s provisions.
For steels used in cold heading and cold extrusion, simply "meeting the standard" is just the baseline. The grade system, technical requirements, testing methods, and delivery rules specified in the standard ultimately need to be applied in real manufacturing scenarios, helping both suppliers and users establish a common technical language that can be understood, verified, and implemented by all parties.
Participating in standard discussions from the perspective of cold-heading applications
As one of the reviewers of the relevant standards, the Creation Group representative drew on practical experience in cold-heading material production, quality control, and downstream applications, contributing to the discussion from the standpoint of aligning material supply with end-use requirements.
We focus not only on what the standard says, but also on whether its technical requirements can be accurately implemented across production, testing, and customer applications; whether different stages share a consistent understanding of the same indicators; and whether the standard provides clear guidance for material selection, quality communication, and problem resolution.
Review and pre-review are not equivalent to publication or implementation
This meeting represents the review and pre-review phases within the standard development process and does not signify that the standards have been officially published or put into effect. Subsequent standard titles, technical content, publication dates, and implementation timelines shall be subject to the official texts released by relevant national authorities and standard-setting bodies.
Continued participation in industry standardization efforts
Standards serve as a common language for industrial collaboration. Creation Group will continue to monitor developments in cold-heading materials and related structural steel standards, actively engage in industry technical exchanges and standardization activities based on our material manufacturing and customer application experience, and promptly conduct internal adaptation and application studies once the official standards are released.
Clarifying material requirements through standards and effectively applying those standards in engineering practice are essential foundations for enhancing the quality of cold-heading materials and fostering collaborative industry development.
